A quick tip for life in #Spain

Below are 3 very handy and helpful tips for Spain
  1.  The Emergency number is 112 ( here are more useful numbers ) The 112 Number is also the main emergency number across Europe and is Multi lingual
  2. So if you do need to Dial 112 for help speak your own language they will get someone on the phone who speaks it
  3.  It is worth knowing and having to hand your Gps coordinates to make it easier and quicker for the emergency services to find you as Spanish postcodes are huge (Even more useful if you life in a rural area )
You can find over 70 more of them on our website by clicking this link https://www.europeanrelocationservices.co.uk/lifeinspain.html

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BRITAIN AND SPAIN #CHRISTMAS

(The first version is from our main website https://www.europeanrelocationservices.co.uk/ourblog/the-difference-between-britain-and-spain-christmas )

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BRITAIN AND SPAIN #CHRISTMAS

So of course it goes without saying each country is a Christian country and therefore marks and Celebrates Christmas but, that does not mean they do mark it the same way

The differences
For one Spain is Catholic while in that sense Britain is Protestant, but it is not just a difference in the type of Christianity that creates differences , it is of course as much culture, and well the Spanish are famous are famous (rightly so) for their festivals (fiesta)  and many of them are religious.
The Spanish for Christmas is Navidad
3 kings day and the parades
And a big Christmas festival is the 3 kings parade which each town holds, to mark the journey of the 3 wise men on their travels to meet baby Jesus (·3 kings eve is 5th January ) (3 kings day is the 6th January )The parade is a huge event and in my experience from the Turre one a lot of fun for the kids and adults alike
And unlike the UK, Spanish children don't get their Christmas gift presents on the 25th December but instead on 6th January 3 kings day the date the 3 wise men where said to have given Jesus his presents
Santa ?
And No the 3 kings Parade is not in my experience /opinion  comparable to the Santa parades you get in the UK , as for one Santa is not in the Spanish 3 kings parade, He is not as big apart of Spanish Christmas as he is in the UK.

Talking of Santa Claus, as I understand Spanish children don't send Santa their gift letters like they would in the UK, but instead write to one of the 3 kings

Spanish Christmas traditions are still in my experience more in line with religion while of course in both countries Christmas is a time for the family.
